Interfaith Ceremonies: Creating the common ground

When you both come from different religious or cultural backgrounds, you may want to artfully integrate rituals from each of your ethnicities. A ceremony that draws from the practices of more than one religious tradition or culture can be moving and profoundly significant. It can be a touching experience for your families and guests as these different cultural elements are integrated into your wedding ceremony.

Multi-faith wedding ceremonies have the opportunity of being actualized creatively. I will work with you to create the perfect blending of cultures and traditions for your ceremony.

Conducting the wedding underneath a Huppah or incorporating the Ketubah into your ceremony could be a way of honoring your Jewish heritage.

Having a family member recite a traditional wedding Bible reading, blessing or prayer could be a way of honoring your Christian origins.

Wearing traditional wedding attire from your culture and reading poetry influenced by your culture or faith could be part of honoring any cultural or religious tradition.

Rituals like the Hindu fire ceremony or a Japanese tea ceremony could also be incorporated into your wedding ceremony.

I will work with you to find the perfect religious and cultural elements to include and ensure that all of the elements included in your ceremony are connected as part of a seamless whole.

It is my fondest hope that they will come away from your wedding saying, “Your wedding was beautiful! Absolutely Gorgeous!  I can’t imagine you having done anything else.”
